In terms of the trade itself….Who do you currently have on your roster?   The reason I ask is that both Gardner and Escobar are balanced in nearly every category. 

I personally would lean toward Escobar since he is younger and can eventually emerge as a top-10 SS, however, Gardner is average at best compared to other OFs out there.

The main issue with Escobar is he tends to lack plate discipline, he tends to K a lot and rarely draws as many BB…If he was able to improve in that regard, he would be able to capitalize more with his biggest asset, which is his blazing speed.

Gardner too is noted for his speed, but his BB/K ratio is really impressive for someone who is only in his 3rd year at the ML level.

Again, I'm in favor of Escobar (especially if a long-term keeper league), but it's based on who else you have on your roster and your stat categories…
