Playing in a dynasty…you have to strike a balance between "now" and the future…you don't always want to be building for next year or the year after that.  The point is to win.  And to win now, while setting yourself up to CONTINUE winning.  So here is my question:

Those of you who play in dynasty leagues…how long do you wait on a guy to produce?  How long before you dump that prize winning prospect/young player?  I gave up on Alex Gordon last season…I had David Wright to play 3B, so it made the decision easier…but I traded Gordon for Adrian Beltre.  We have a UTIL and INF slot to play in that league, so I slotted Beltre in as my INF option for most of the season, and enjoyed great success.  Of course now, who would you rather have?  The older Beltre or the younger Gordon (who has maybe figured things out – FINALLY)? 

How long do you wait on a guy like Carlos Gonzalez in a dynasty as opposed to a redraft?  When do you consider moving a guy like Joe Mauer…figuring you'll trade him for a younger catcher?  Just curious how you guys strike a balance on your teams.  It's a challenging way to play the game, and a blast if you're into deep management…but it can be frustrating at times!
