im thinking of dropping figgins for chase headley who just cleared waivers in my league . obviously headley is off to a hot start and stealing bases for the NL leading basestealing padres. and chase headley is the younger player , but will he fail in consistency ? is figgins indeed the safe bet ??
my OF and bench guys are billy butler, nelson cruz , carlos quinten , michael cuddyer , jason werth , shane victorino , adam dunn .
we are an 8 team league with deep rosters .. i m not sure i would drop any of the above guys listed over figgins ..
any thoughts and opinions are welcome
thanks in advance ..

Headley will definitely have more power and rbi chances as well as be batted in. I personally like him and have him in a dynasty league. That being said if you are looking for steals stick with Figgins for now, Chase hasn't been a typically aggressive base runner. Batting in PETCO doesn't help him much either.

I rank Headley over Figgins, because Headley is more consistent overall offensively and Figgins will never be quite the speed merchant as he was earlier in his career…..

Headley. KingLouieLouie has this covered as usual. They aren't that far apart, though.

i know the 2 are close in comparison . i made this move ,forward thinking . its never a guarentee any player will stay in san diego so i see headley as having a more dynamic potenial .
i can take seeing figgins score for someone else this season because i think(hope) the two are heading in different directions.
i think their stats will cancel eachother out in 2010

I agree…Also, it's contingent on what the Padres ultimately do with Adrian Gonzalez… Now if Scott Hairston and/or Kyle Blanks can both start putting up quality stats ahead of Headley, then he will begin to pitched to even more….
Figgins apparently cannot thrive on the basepaths as he once did, which diminishes his value beyond belief…Also, he's been only batting .111 vs RH pitching, which eventually will cause a major drop in playing time if that trend does indeed continue…

I like Headley as well – for all the same reasons already mentioned.
