I have seen this guys go all over the place in recent mock drafts. From the 2nd to the 5th round. He has potential to reach 1st round numbers if the mets give him the green light on the bases but most reports have been he wont be stealing very much. There is a huge difference in 20 SB to 60. That is what we could see with Reyes. I would be very careful with him and wouldnt suggest taking him too early. He is too much of a risk with his injuries. Let someone else reach. How high would you guys take him?
His ADP is 23.09 according to mockdraftcentral. Pretty high.

id say hes worth a look late in the 2nd round of a 12 team draft. but i doubt youd get him there because someone will always reach earlier just because he's "jose reyes"…needless to say I doubt that I will be rostering him in many leagues…

I'm not into falsely accusing anyone, however, the recent thyroid condition that Reyes has been diagnosed with sends up quite a few alarms. The most significant one is that a thyroid disorder can be rampant steroid use. It's not merely coincidental that he had constant lingering injuries during the earlier stages of his career to suddenly leap-frog several others to be considered the 3rd best overall player (ranking just behind Pujols and HanRam) last season. Plus, it seems his progress from last year's injury is too good to be true.
For now, I would avoid him like the plague and even consider Zobrist and Andrus even more safer bets…whereas I know several may beg to differ…

I honestly hope that my theory is proven wrong. Otherwise, we can go on suspecting that every single player that has peaked in recent years only did that with the benefit of using PEDs….That's depressing….
I've been meaning for awhile to post players I believe that were included on the Mitchell Report, but haven't been disclosed…. It's pretty interesting to make the correlations and such…
Some of it Bud Seling probably knew of it, but was desperate at all cost to restore an interest/faith into the game after the '94 lock-out, but ultimately all of this come back to haunt him even more…

Well… it appears Reyes will miss at least the first week of the season while still recovering from his thyroid ailment…
Am I the only one to believe that he will be a major bust this season?
