Is it acceptable to Trade Mike Trout & Bobby Abreu for Troy Tulowitzki, Devin Mesoraco & JD Martinez?

 

 

I am thinking this is a good sell high deal for me & I get 2 "prospects" back while getting younger.

 

its a 12 owner league with 30 player rosters & all our keeper.

& it has OF spots seperated so I do lose 1 of my CF eligible players but I do have McCutchen & Austin Jackson.

I am trying to dangle one of 

Asdrubal Cabrera / Erick Aybar for an upgrade at 2B/3B since that is where I view my weakness to be. Also would like to add an upgrade a SP & get younger at closer.

This was a keeper league team that I took over for at the begining of the year and have already put my stamp on it.

So 16 new bodies in total But I made like 165 transactions throughout the year (4 people had more then me and 2 were right with me…Leader had 450+)

Asdrubal Cabrera & Francisco Cordero are no longer members of my team

Adrian Beltre is now my new 3B

 

 

My waiver claim for Yoenis Cespedes managed to go through. Which couldn't have worked out any better. David Murphy was dropped to aqcuire him.

 

I then began trade talks for Cespedes.

The trade that was accepted by both parties was

sending away Yoenis Cespedes / J.D. Martinez / John Danks

for

bringing in Zack Cozart / Drew Pomeranz / Matt Moore

I don't know where the next roster improvement will take place though. backup 1B & another OF maybe

Verlander, Price, Greinke, Moore has me very happy

Madson Valverde & Perez are all locks to close until injury strikes. Feliz is a wild card & Marshall will help with Holds But I may need to get another Holds guy and try to jump a few people in this category.

Hitting wise

Miggy will have 1B & 3B elig before its all said & done & he will be fantasy elite at either position

Tulo is a top 3 SS at worst

Beltre is top 5 at a weakened 3B

Kipnis has potential that I am counting on.

the combo of Braun, McCutchen, Pence & Holliday is very solid 

 

Acquiring Devin Mesoraco, Zack Cozart & Drew Pomeranz could be decent. or it could bite me in the butt. Just depends on each's improvement.

For some reason I love Tyler Clippard.

I traded with thenumber 2 team from last year.

He is now hurting a bit in the Holds department & I should be around 5th to 6th with Marshall & Clippard instead of fighting for the 10-11-12 spot.

 

my new holes are RF & 2B while I still want another 1B (Miggy will get 3b elig & Morse will be my 1B…I want to trade Beltre or Prado at some point this year if it is worth while)

The person who brought in Hill has Ackley & Neil Walker so I am not sure hy he suggested the move

If I can pick up an open roster spot or 2 I will add a 2b for the future like Cory Spangenberg or Kolten Wong (or may trade for one since a few are hanging onto the bottom of a roster)

Feliz & Marshall were sent packing for Belt, Lester & Wilhelmsen .

I now have no closers unfortunately…But I am a huge fan of my starters. looking to sell a Hellickson Grienke or price for a solid bat & maybe some pen arms.
One manager has thrown out the Idea of trading me Michael Young for Adrian Beltre but I am not sure if I want that. Beltre is one of my trade chips & Young brings added versatility with his 1B/2B/3B elig..But I want to get younger through my trades. Any thoughts on whether this deal would be beneficial?

If i"m you I don't move Beltre….I wouldn't rush into moving a really good starting pitcher for a closer either…if the right deal comes up, sure, but you might be able to pick up a closer off the waivers as guys often get hurt or lose their closer jobs and are replaced by someone not on a roster.

around the top 3 relievers for each team (the closer & next in line) are already on squads.
Tom Wilhelmsen quality arms are all that are on the FA wire due to this being such a deep league with 9 of 12 managers being active (most are on multiple times each day).

I just released Dom Brown & picked up Mitchell Boggs though.

after some debate…I ended up doing Haren for Young…I am getting tired of one of Cozart, Mesoraco & Belt always being in my lineup.

Grienke & Lester are next up on my cutting block.
