Wow, that's tough. I'm going to let KingLouieLouie and gang handle this one, but I think it dpends on if you're in a "win now" mode or kind of "trying now" but rebuilding mode…
Smoak at a 15th rounder next year is pretty good even though he still might not reach his full potential a year or two later… I guess my question is, how much longer can you keep him past 2011? If only for 2011, that changes things a bit, as I said I expect him to get better and better each year…
KingLouieLouie, Dolemite, Steelers? Thoughts?

I suppose my questions would be:
1. Are you contending now?
2. If so, can you afford to wait out Lind's slump or do you have good OF options? (Lind had a good game last night, by the way).
3. What's your first base situation vs. your outfield?
If you are contending now – you have to think about the implications of giving up on Lind who's already proven himself for Smoak, who may struggle this season.
Since you can't keep Lind, it definitely makes sense to field offers…better to get someone in return than let him walk, I suppose….but not necessarily at the expense of hurting your chances this season. I know Lind is struggling…but there are 120 games left for him to turn it back around…

i am currently leading my division.
i have no bench players in the OF and currently amd making due with michael bourn , vernon wells and nick markakis . i have jacoby ellsbury on the mend on the DL
i could only keep smoak for one year in this league so next season at a 15th rd would be the only prospect
i currently have smoak and another OF would be good depth , especially a OF of lind's charachter

Ah I misunderstood…you have Lind – not Smoak.
I think I'd lean towards keeping Lind for now…your thin in the OF as is and surely Lind will turn it back on and start mashing.

Lind has the potential to 40 hrs now where as smoak could take a few more years to reach full potential. I'm with holding onto Lind if you feel like it for now. I don't think smoaks #'s this year and next year will be worth it.
