Last year I was given the distinction of having the 1st overall pick in my Fantasy Baseball Keeper League.  I didn't find out until less than an hour before the draft and I obviously had a very complex decision to make.  I was heavily leaning towards Albert Pujols because we know the sheer legendary offensive clinic he's guaranteed to put on every season, but something convinced me to select HanRam instead. 

First, I took into consideration that there's a major drop-off at SS after him, that he's 3-4 younger than Pujols with even a higher ceiling.  Plus, HanRam's uncanny ability to steal 30-40 bases even made him more appealing.  

Did I end-up regretting my decision?  No, because I ended-up drafting Prince Fielder in the 2nd round and he also hasn't fully reached his untapped potential.

The question is….Who do you consider should be the #1 ranked overall player?  I've been speculating about this quite of bit and feel they are both even… It's difficult to compare the 2…..What do you all think?

I say Pujols. I love both, obviously, but Pujols has the ability to make every other player look silly during any given season. Will he have that HUGE HR season this year? Who knows, but I don't want to be the owner watching that season knowning I could have had him. I grab Pujols no matter what. But anyone that knows me knows I'd trade up my second and third round picks so that I can land both with back-to-back 1-2 picks

Haha if you are able to get Pujols and Hanley that is just sick.

I'd have to take Pujols over Hanley with the first pick because he WILL put up the better numbers.
