I have owned Soriano for a few years in this league and he has done me well but is it time to trade him before its too late? If so what can I get? I need RPs and a Catcher. 12 teamer. dynasty. Just looking for ideas?

Good topic. Soriano has taken a hit the last few years in a row and his playing time is in question now. It depends on the trade but the kind of move I'd recommend is one where you quietly trade him for a similar playing talent, but a player that is on the rise and will pass up Soriano soon enough. Make a youth investment now using the value he has left.
That's my advice anyway, maybe KingLouieLouie76 has some better advice. He is head of content here at FBX. And both Dolemite and Steelers0087 have the knowledge here at FBX. What do you three think?

I agree w/Smitty on this one…. What made Soriano highly sought after a few years ago (even in '07 when I drafted him around the top 5 overall of a draft) was his ability of being a 30/40 guy…Also, what was majorly impressive was that he was producing that output while still 2B eligible. Now, as an OFer, he's not even w/in the top-10 LFers in the game…He hasn't exceed 19 SBs since '06 and his OPs have dropped off immensely. Also, he Ks too much and rarely draws that many walks….
I would definitely trade him now…but honestly don't know how much redeemable value he might have… Perhaps he can net you a mid-tier starter or closer and/or a decent catcher…..
Also, I expect Tyler Colvin to see more action and highly regarded OF prospect Brett Jackson waiting in the wings… I can Soriano's career as a full-time player over by season's end…..
Again, best to do to sell him now since he might be still attractive to some, however, again don't expect the best of returns in the process….

Right… Colvin is just going to see more and more time. Don't sell too low but getting any shot at an up and coming player is a clear win! Post the offers here first before you pull the trigger, though.

Yeah…agreed…Soriano did have a decent weekend series vs the Astros 4-for-10, 2-RBI, but no HRs and finally his 1st SB of the season….
I would wait for another couple of series of that production and his redeemable value might increase enough to entice someone to make a huge leap for him, but soon he will come back down to life……

Relish the thought…..Seriously…. Definitely the best time than ever to sell Soriano since he had a pretty decent week…. 8 H, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 15 TB, .364 BA, 1.105 OPS, so you should easily find a taker for a mid-tier starter and/or reliever, along with an emerging position player….

Seriously, if we were at a deli and you had a nice fresh turkey san with mayo, cheese and fresh turkey alone, I'd pull the trigger.

the thing about soriano is what you see is what you get .
when he is healthy and hitting he is absolutely mashing . on the otherhand when he is cold he cannot find the ball and will cost you dearly in the K cats.
bottom line on sori is dont go after him if you want a consistent hitter . he will have some great weeks and some horrible weeks (see Adam Dunn).
now that wrks well for some players who will only play him when hot and bench him when he isnt hitting . but rather have a more consistent hitter for my dollar if one is availible at a feasible price.

You completely nailed it….
It appears now that Soriano is now embroiled in the midst of one of his MAJOR slumps, so now again might not be the best time to trade him, however, definitely pull the trigger once he does get hot again because you will certainly get at least a decent return…..

Well I'm about two weeks behind on this – but I gave up on Soriano a couple of years ago. You should move on. His best days are long gone.
