Hey guys, we seem to be moving towards a nice little community here, so I thought I'd throw out an offer for those of you who visit often and post sometimes to be in a league together.  "Sickroy" and I were in a basketball league this past season, and he really voiced a frustration that I commonly have in public leagues, that being the "deadbeat" managers.  Heck, even with guys I've met with the past 5 years, there are guys who disappear during the season.  I had to go so far as to offer that this year be a "money league" to drum up better participation.  We got the guys…remains to be seen about the participation.

Anyways, I figure if you are willing to come on here as often as you do, you probably would appreciate a league where there are 8 or 10 managers paying attention for the whole season.  I'll set it up on yahoo, you just have to let me know your e-mail address to get an invite.  You can share it here on this post, OR, if you don't want it out there for everyone to get a hold of, send me a "PM" on this site.  It would be a Head to Head league, maximum of 10 teams, and if guys signed up real quick we could do a draft this Saturday or Sunday.  If you have an opinion about whether it should be a standard 5x5, or go beyond that, let me know.  Also, I'm thinking redraft, but if you are interested in it being a keeper, let me know that too.

Count my hat in there as well. Smitty should be final decision on this league as these sites are his opus.

So am still waiting to hear from Smitty on this one, so it looks like at best we would get started in week 3.  I'm pretty confident we have 6 guys, so if Smitty gives the a.o.k., I'll set it up and get invites out to those guys, and then hopefully we would pick up 4 more.

Did you check ESPN?  Just curious when they stop their drafts.

Ok, I checked ESPN, and their live drafts end tomorrow on Sunday the 17th.

But with "sickroy's" enthusiasm, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try an auto league.  My thinking goes like this: anyone from this site will know to pre-rank their players and end up with a good team.  Also, if you don't get what you want, well, it only encourages more wheelin' and dealin' what with trade offers.  And finally, and I could be wrong here, I'm figuring on only 8 guys (although I'd take up to 12).

So I signed up a yahoo league, it's a standard 5x5 Head to Head league, with only a few variations.  There is no waiver wire, so as to promote managers to check out things more often; there is only a one day wait on trade voting; and the line-up has C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, and 2 Utility spots.  Pitching is standard yahoo set-up of SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, P.  There are 5 bench spots and 1 DL.

I signed up the league to begin on week 4, which would begin on Monday, April 25.  If we don't have 8 guys by Friday the 23rd, it probably won't come down.

Thanks for the heads up Roy….man…I like my team..but I think I have like 4 or 5 guys who are on the DL…Zimmerman, Longoria, Greinke, to name a few….oh well…I like my team for the most part…already picked up a couple of guys…looking forward to a fun season!
