OfflineOK, so if you had one of these guys on your team, he probably did not torpedo your season. If you had two, you probably made the corrections and stayed in it. If you had three you cursed your bad luck. If you had four, you probably dreamed of fantasy football. If you had five or more, you probably were drafting fantasy football teams in June long before the lock-out ended.
Will just list who I thought was the worst, based on pre-season rankings and where they eventually fell to. Standard 5x5 stats, ie runs, home runs, rbi, sb, and average for hitters; wins, saves, K's, ERA, and WHIP for pitchers. Also, will give the yahoo pre-season rank, followed by the end of the year rank.
Here are the FLUBS:
C: Joe Mauer 38 – 3 – 30 – 0 – .287 From 40 to 924
1B: Justin Morneau 19 – 4 – 30 – 0 – .227 From 51 to 1102
2B: Chase Utley 54 – 11 – 44 – 14 – .259 From 63 to 307
3B: Alex Rodriguez 67 – 16 – 62 – 4 – .276 From 14 to 199
SS: Hanley Ramirez 55 – 10 – 45 – 20 – .243 From 2 to 293
OF: Ichiro Suzuki 80 – 5 – 47 – 40 – .272 From 46 to 116
OF: Carl Crawford 65 – 11 – 56 – 18 – .255 From 11 to 233

OfflineI agree Bones. I think the worst of the bunch are the two Twinkees, Hamram and Dunn. The reasons, The two Twins M&M, went from 40 and 51 which compared to their part achievements was kind of a bargain with the only problem being lingering and recovering (from) injuries. When they were playing they were awful, only teasing Twin fans once in a while hitting by a dinger. The final result being fantasy wise they ended up on the bottom of the bottom 924 and 1102.
Hanram is a bit different, he didn't have a dog arse season like the twinkees. He went from SUPERSTAR status (#2) to average player status at 243. Call it a slump year. I think Hanram suffered from the loss of Uggla. Hopefully the new Miami Marlins will get another bat, move Stanton up in the lineup, he'll rebound and have a comeback season.
I don't know too much about Dunn so I won't comment on him but, from 30 to 1155! That's the worse drop of the season. There is something wrong their, I just don't know what it is.
