OfflineIn a case of taking one's own advice, I made a move to trade Adam Dunn, he of the high strikeout rate. In a spotlight last weekend, I suggested that despite evidence of the return of his power stroke, owners might want to consider offering him in trade due to his high strikeout rate and low batting average.
Well, Adam came through for me that same night, as he slugged 2 HR's in the same game. Putting my trades where my mouth is, I immediately shot off 6 trade offers. The one that came through had me shipping off two 1B, i.e., Dunn and Adam LaRoche, and getting Pablo Sandoval in return. I can play Pablo at 1B and keep Ryan Zimmerman at 3B, thus creating the best corner duo of any of my 5 teams this season.
Plus of course, I receive a "flex" option in that I have an open roster spot (which I find quite valuable).
How did I do?
PS: I just now share this because one of my pet peeves with yahoo is they are sooooooooo slow in processing trades. This went down on Sunday, and won't reflect on my roster until Thursday. I hate that.
