With Buster Posey going down, most likely for the rest of the year, the anemic Giants offense lost it's most menacing weapon.  Glad to see the Giants call Belt back up; I mean, they're going to need him.  Cody Ross has shown some life lately, but Aubrey Huff and Pat Burrell have been horrible, and Pablo Sandoval is still on the DL.  

Belt hit over .350 in about 140 AB's down in Fresno, and he did jack 4 HR's.  I'd love for the kid to succeed, but he isn't going to have any protection in that line-up, and he is still young with not a lot  of minor league work under his belt.  Prospectors might want to stash him on the bench, but with a lot of options at first base I wouldn't immediately start him.

I imagine he'll get used….no poing in bringing up a young kid to just sit there and not develop.  If that's all they're going to do, they should've called up a different hitter and let Belt keep working on things in the minors.
