The biggest bat on the free agent market is Beltran, who surprisingly to this writer has had a great bounce-back season.  Really didn't see that coming what with his injuries the past couple of years.  For owners who believed, kudos to you.

Now the Mets are looking to make a haul, and who could blame them?  The injury possibilities are still there, so why not cash in and sell high?

Obviously you aren't going to go nab Carlos on your waiver wire, but follow what the Mets do.  Someone is going to have to replace him in the OF.  Word is that Lucas Duda will get a shot, but looking at his stats so far leaves a lot to be desired.  In 108 AB's he is only hitting .250 with a 9-0-13-1 stat line.  Certainly not Beltranish and certainly won't help your fantasy team if that is all he has to offer.

My guess is that if the Mets get a hot AAA OF prospect, they will stick him in the line-up to see what they got.  Keep an eye on that.  Otherwise, I think it will just assure that Daniel Murphy keeps getting at bats, and may increase Justin Turner's involvement.

In other words, nothing to get too excited about.

Latest news on Beltran is that the Red Sox and Phillies are hot on the trail.  The 2 best line-ups in baseball need more?  Look for slight bump-ups in production for the players around Beltran wherever he lands.

I heard the Giants were interested in Beltran as well….in other Mets news…sounds like they are definitely hanging on to Reyes now.

I would love for him to go to Philly. That way maybe I could compete with Bones and Bob in our league, ha ha!

He's landed in San Francisco.  I can't believe they got a big bat.  This should really help lock up the NL West.

Fantasy wise, his old ballpark is similar to SF, ie, not fantasy friendly, but that hasn't stopped him this year.

You may see a slight bump up in batters around him in SF's order.  God knows Aubrey Huff could use all the help he can get.

Brandon Belt's value plummets again this season.  There is no where to put him, and word is he's going back down to the minors again.  Dynasty owners probably can wait though.

Wonder if Jose Reyes numbers will drop a little without Beltran behind him in the line-up?
