Is he the top pitcher this season? Anyone think the limelight of NY might affect his stats in 2009?

I dont believe he is the #1 pitcher this year. I rank my top 3 pitchers like this, 1. Johan Santana, 2. Tim Lincecum, 3. CC Sabathia.
Including the playoffs, CC has thrown 513 innings combined in the past two years, im worried about him staying fresh and healthy throughout the entire season. How is the arm going to hold up? If he is able to hold up, then we could be looking at the best pitcher in the game, but thats a big IF.

He isn't my #1 as I also have Santana there but I like him #2. Here is my top 5 rank:
- J. Santana
- C. Sabathia
- T. Lincecum
- B. Webb
- R. Halladay

I agree with that 5 right there.

That's an interesting question. It's probably safe to say if he drops off, it won't be a 'Carl Pavano' level disaster, but it does add some risk to Sabathia.
You know, the other thing about Sabathia I can't figure out, is what the heck happened to him in April/May last year ?

At last count, it is estimated that the 2009 NY Yankees team salary will significantly exceed the GDP of at least 9 separate countries.

I have Sabathia at #3, and expect (maybe too optimistically) a comeback for Verlander:
