We (and probably just about every other fantasy baseball site) said it was just a matter of time before the injury bug hit Chipper, and now he has a knee problem.  If the "shot" doesn't work, he'll probably head to the DL again.  Those who traded him away consider it a profit.  For those still holding the 39 year old third baseman, hope he heals quickly with the aid of the shot, reals off a few good games, and then try to peddle him off to a rookie owner, lol.

Agreed…but not all is lost…stash him on your bench (or DL) if you have room…he may become an attractive option again down the road if an injury takes away another third baseman.

That's good advice Bob; it's hard to drop a guy with Chipper's current stats to the waiver wire…

Well, Chipper has decided to get his cortisone shots and try to play through it.  He went 1-5 last night.  I would try to trade him, but yahoo has that little yellow box with the star next to it signaling new news.  So I think I have to wait for that to disappear.  I know I am not interested when I see the words "tear" and "knee" in the same sentence concerning an athlete…..

Try to move him RIGHT NOW.  The window has almost closed.  Imagine that it's a cool spring morning, so it's been left open just a crack.  But before long, you're going to have to turn on the AC and that window will be closed for the rest of the summer……

Great analogy, but the only problem is with that little news flash next to Jones name on the yahoo site, people are going to think receiving him is like getting their fingers smashed when you slam shut the window, lol.

So I finally am trying to trade Jones.

In one league, I just put notice out there that he is available.  I'm so loaded with that team I don't  even know what I want for him, lol.

The other league, I went with the overkill.  I am loaded at 3B what with Bautista and Beltre, so I combined Chipper Jones and Alex Gordan.  Asked 6 different teams for one of their relief pitchers…good ones…like Brian Wilson, Papelbon, etc.

Two starters for a one category player?  You would think it would work (two of these teams are DREADFUL at 3B).  But people do get scared of making a mistake…..
