I have heard a couple of rumors of Mark Cuban buying the Dodgers…anyone else think this would be completely brilliant????

He's a known "character"…could do wonders for the image of MLB owners.  Every sport has that owner…that one guy…Cuban in the NBA, Jerry Jones in the NFL and so on….Cuban could do double duty and give the MLB a different type of "star."  Steinbrenner left a void…let Cuban fill it!

Not to mention…the guy's a brilliant businessman and passionate as hell….(as was Steinbrenner).  Let him have a serious shot at this team…I think it could be an amazing fit.

Just my two cents…I could be (and generally am) wrong.  But I'd love to see it!

speaking of this disaster…MLB believes the Dodgers can't make their May payroll.  Unbelievable.  McCourt is complaining that Selig won't approve a $3 billion deal with Fox (front loaded with a $300 million payment to the team).  But…I'm not sure I would approve it either…seems like they've already run this into the ground once, and approving that deal would just delay the inevitable.

Maybe Selig's got another motive…maybe he's already got an owner in mind and doesn't want to burden the new guy with a long term TV contract.  I don't know…this should get interesting.

Oh Baby, I would love to see Cuban in baseball.  But they wouldn't let him have the Cubs a few years ago.  I think his "out-of-the-box" style scares the current owners.

It's a shame, because you are right Bob.  He would do wonders for baseball.  And I would probably have to stop hating the Dodgers if it happened!  This from a life-long Giants fan….a testimony to what Cuban could do for baseball if I ever heard one!
