Scratch offer 2, he's changed his mind on that deal and isn't wanting to make it.

Welcome to the forum! As we discussed via IM, Trade #3 would be the best scenario. You will be adding a solid front-line CY caliber starter who along with Dan Haren will provide you much needed stability. Wandy Rodriguez who is you essentially already have in De La Rosa and Cueto, 2 pitchers who are rather erratic and only have a slight small sample-size of success.
Obviously, you can slot Zimmerman in for Longoria at 3B, Teixeria for Howard at 1B is a wash and we all know Upton is going to have a MAJOR break-thru season and should easily be 25/20, 95 RBIs, and hit for high average… Definitely gives you so many newer dimensions…
In the process, you're getting short/long-term benefit by your additions and to me Carpenter is the essence since again he's established and very proven and favorably impacts several pitching categories…
Thanks for posting and hope you continue to do so……

Man, I wish people in my leagues were this active trading.
Trade #3: I believe that Upton, Texeria, and Carpenter are more rounded players than Howard, Longo, and Wrod. If you didn't have Zimmerman as a UTIL player this wouldn't have been an option. Carpenter is a more solid option than WRod assuming he is past his health issues. Justin Upton will better than Longo this season IMO. The #'s that Texeria and Howard will put up this season will be very similar too. I would probably take this trade.
Upton > Longo
Carpenter > WRod
Tex = Miggy
Trade#1: I would also consider this trade because Gordon Beckham will be a very nice improvement over Uggla at second (not to mention he will still have eligibility at 3rd). Beckham will be one of the best 2nd basemans in the league for a long time to come. I consider Grenkie and upgrade over Haren because Grenkie will be more consistent over the entire season. Howard and Miggy are roughly the same (Howard will hit more hr's, Miggy will hit less hr's but have a better average). Buherle won't hurt, but I would watch the waiver wire as soon as the season begins. Although I still like trade #3, you may want to consider trade too.
Beckham >> Uggla
Grenkie > Haren
Miggy = Howard
Again, its great that you have Zimmerman to back up Longoria. Great work and please come back and keep posting!

Thanks for all your responses.
Things took an interesting twist.
The Upton-Carpenter-Texieria trade guy wound up having a change of heart and pulling the deal. The second team also pulled Hanley out of trade talks.
After some negotiating, he offered me Miguel Cabrera, Troy Tulowitzki, Jason Kubel, Juan Pierre and Mark Buherle for Ryan Howard, Evan Longoria and Ichiro. I accepted this deal.
Why I took it: I honestly think that Cabrera- Howard is a wash. Cabrera may not have as many homers, but he makes up for it in average and RBIs are about equal. Tulo is a pretty big upgrade to my SS position, and Ichiro for that haul made it more better. Buherle improves my pitching staff, Kubel and Pierre, who I see having a big season, make up for Ichiro.
Thoughts?

Not a bad trade. As long as you have a reason for it and you think it helps your team, then you can't go wrong. Like you said, Miggy and Howard will have similar numbers. Tulo is a big upgrade over Cabrera at short. If you want you can put Asdrubal Cabrera at 2nd over Uggla too. Ozzie Guillen has made it clear that he wants to run more this season so Pierre may gets TONS of stolen bases. Kubel has good power and a decent average. It will be interesting to see if his numbers improve seeing that he will be playing at Target Field. Lastly, Buherle will help your rotation. Good work!
