OfflineSome guys to target later in drafts that could pay big dividends, in no particular order…
Wade Davis, TB- has the control, but tougher division
Brandon Morrow, TOR- has the stuff just needs to learn control
Bud Norris, HOU- K machine at every level played so far
Homer Bailey, CIN- finally achieving potential?
Justin Masterson, CLE- one to watch, but could be a big bust.
OfflineI have taken a few mock drafts and one pitcher I have taken almost every time in the 22-23 round is Joel Pineiro. He will not be the ace of your staff but he can be a very nice pickup if you can scoop him up towards the end of a draft. Worst case scenario, you drop him for a surprise pitcher during the season. He may not get lots of K's (105 K's/214IP last year) but last year he had a 1.1 BB/9. Maybe the change of scenery will help him this season.
OfflineAfter doing a little more research my favorite under the radar SP is Brian Matusz from Baltimore. A lot of people might know about him because he is a top prospect but he isnt getting drafted very high at all. Its not a matter IF Matusz will be an ace its WHEN will he become a bonifide STUD. Get him in all keeper leagues!!!

Liriano is looking pretty sharp as well.
I agree….I label Liriano right now the "dark horse" among any AL starting-pitcher in the draft. Again, if….IF he remains healthy…He will easily net 14 Ws, 195-Ks with a high K/9 and low K/BB ratio and an ERA around 3.45.
I listed Billy Buckner (no, not the infamous Red Sox '86 "blundering" one) ealier, however, he struggled this spring and even fell behind Kris "Anna" Benson on the depth charts as their potential 5th starter.
But, I would now take a flyer on another Dbacks starter, Ian Kennedy. He was obviously highly touted while progressing through the Yankees organization and was one of the key parts of the Yankees/Tigers/Dbacks deal (essentially known as the Curtis Granderson Blockbuster) and he's since had a solid Arizona Fall and Cactus League(s) showings. He'll be their 3rd starter and should benefit from the expansive Chase Field and the potent offense the Dbacks managed to augment during the offseason.
The Marlins recently added Nate Robertson and was stellar in his 1st outing since the trade….. Conversely, a former Marlin (who happens to be currently on the Tigers and the Robertson trade cleared the path for him) Dontrelle Willis might revert back to his former form….We shall see….
Then there's always these "stand-bys"….Brad Penny, Gil Meche, and Bronson Arroyo…..
OfflineI usually don't like adding 34-year old veterans to this list, but I was very impressed with the Dbacks new 4th starter, Rodrigo Lopez, outing last night.. Albeit…it was an exhibition game vs the Cubs, his line was sensational:
6 2/3 innings, 0-Runs, 2-Hits, 4Ks/0BBs, and only 84-pitches…
I'm not claiming him to be CY Young or anything, but prior to all his injuries he was a solid starter for the Orioles and actually did quite well during his stint in the Phillies rotation last year….Several have discovered the Fountain of Youth in Phoenix and it appears Lopez might have done so as well…..
