I'm looking to stream a pitcher for tomorrow's games, and Luke comes across as the top candidate over the past 30 days.  Huh???

In 33.2 innings he has 3 wins for the fading Royals, with only 10 walks and 26 strikeouts.  But crazier still is his 2.41 ERA and 1.01 WHIP over the past month.

Unfortunately he is AT the Chicago White Sox, and I've seen this before, where after a good performance or two he gets blown up.  BUT if he gets by the Sox IN Chicago, I might have to rethink this.  He WAS a top prospect for Kansas City, but maybe he's a late bloomer like Alex Gordon has proven to be this year?  Here's to Hope!

I am personally not a believer – yet.  But he's been looking great…I know at point (before his first good start in this run) Ned Yost said they "fixed" something with Luke, and said the proof will be in his performance…and so far he's been right on.  He hasn't had a bad start since.  If he can finish this year out strong, I'll believe a little more..but I'll need to see another good year out of him before I will admit that he's a legit starter.

I'd still like to see him as no better than about a #3 pitcher in the KC rotation (I don't believe he'll ever be a legit #1).

Still don't see him as a guy I'd want as more than a middle rotation guy…but…he picked up another win yesterday, lowering his WHIP to 1.28 and evening out his record at 11-11.

For fantasy value – not much more than a scrub or a guy to have in a very deep roster league….but for "real life" value…if the Royals position players continue improving and turning into what we think they are…and Hochevar keeps pitching like this…he could be an okay #2 or a very solid 3 on this KC staff in 2012.  Here's hoping Dayton Moore uses either Melky Cabrera or the very talented Lorenzo Cain (I would rather keep Cain…) to go out and land a pitcher in the offseason…would love to see KC bundle up some guys to pick up an ace.  If so…and if they sign Bruce Chen (the new version of Jamie Moyer) the pitching will be much improved and KC could be a very legit team in the AL Central in 2012….
