I have been offered Teixeira for Morneau. Should I take Morneau? Scoring is pretty standard for the most part. I feel like its too close to call and need advice. Its redraft.

I personally rank Teixeira over Morneau as this time just based on the fact that Teixeira ranks higher in terms of career SLG, OPS, walks at a higher rate, and averages more TB per season. Also, Teixeira also has slightly better power numbers than Morneau…..
Morneau though has gotten off to a better start than Teixeira, however, Teixeira is known to struggle for the initial part of the season and then catch on fire starting the 2nd week of May without any turning back whatsoever….
So, there are savvy managers at there who would hope that someone would fall for their bait and take a Morneau for a Teixeira, however, stats and trends tend to never lie and tell the whole story….

Texiera went 1-3 w/2 BBs on 4/27…. He's starting to show some signs of life….Again, per usual..expect him to pay your team big dividends when his stats start to pick-up in mid-May…..

I would keep Tex, he has always been known as a slow starter. He is one of those guys who will probably get really hot and hit like 15 hr's in a month or something like that. He is too good of a player to keep slumping like he has.

Time to review:
Here's Teixeria's May stats entering 5/12:
4-HRs, 13-RBI, 5-BB/6-K, .342 BA, .419 OBP, .711 SLG, 1.129 OPS
Morneau's May stats entering 5/12:
3-HRs, 5-RBI, 7-BB/10-K, .351 BA, .455 OBP, .676 SLG, 1.130 OPS
Essentially, this is going accordingly on Teixeria's proven track record of struggling in April, but around the 1st-2nd week of May…he goes on a sudden surge and never turns back……

Tex is a slow starting stud. Don't know what you decided on this – but I would've taken Tex. As KingLouie said, he's going to take off and never look back (he's already started to do so, actually).
