I had him on the ropes 5-4 all week do to my efficient(and lucky) pitching staff, taking all 5 pitching categories while keeping his all star bats in check by topping the SB category (Bones thanks for the Desmond Jennings heads up cuz he's bagged me a few bases). But wait! He's caught up in the wins a Ks categories by simply using all 6 of his adds to rotate in and out pitchers, I forgot what you called it, Bones? but, you had a name for it. a one word adjective.

WHAT do I do? I've tried to do what he's doing by calling in a few pitchers but they backfired. I picked up The Pads own Corey Lubkey to help me out tomorrow. Any suggestions on who else to get(I burned up 4 adds already by snagging Strasburg as soon as I red Bones' post plus I had to pull and plug a few times due to slow days, Monday and Thursday. I'll take any advice you have to give humbly. My opponent is a pest! He's the guy I've complained about, always throwing insanely low ball trade offers every other day to every manager in the league for all of their best players. Only one guy and myself held out and resisted his pesky trade offers. He eventually amassed an dream team and took a monumental lead in the league an clinched a playoff spot faster then anyone I have ever seen. It's to no surprise that standing in second and third place are the two managers that didn't trade with him(me being in third). The last time him and I went head to head he beat me 9-1, and threw salt also by saying "accepting my trade offers would have given you a better chance to win, on second thought, Na it wouldn't have mattered. I was PISSED! But, I blew his comments off and thought to myself "he probably gets his rocks off doing this so I'm not going to supply him with rocks". But it sure would be NICE to take this or at least tie it. So ANY help would be great. also Him and I might meet in the playoffs so any advice or strategies on how to take him then would be cool too. THANKX

PS If you could reply to the first part of my problem by this evening, that would be great(so I can make the adjustments before 12:00 PST

Yes, it's called "streaming."

And you can live and die by it.  You live with winning K's and sometimes wins.  You usually die by ERA and WHIP.

But, on to your question.  A lot of waiver wires have Anibal Sanchez going against the Padres.  He has 160 K's in 154 innings.  AND you cover yourself with a win since you have the Padre starter….IF one of the starters gets the win.

Mike Leake takes on a sinking Pirates team, but in Pittsburg.

Guillermo Moscoso, pitching for the A's, has 3 wins in his last 4 starts, and has a home game against the Blue Jays.  I prefer streaming home games.

Ivan Nova got shelled in his last game.  A lot of times a pitcher who gets shelled comes back with a lot of innings and even a win.  And even though it's away, it's the Twinkees of Minnesota.

That's my read…Good Luck!

Thanks Bones! I was unable to access a PC last night so I wasn't able to read it on time but I did check for Anibal because he was pitching for my other public team. Unfortunately he was taken. I'm still in it though 4-6 having claimed the SB cat. with the help of Desmond Jennings' 3 steal performance. I'm still down in the wins and Ks cat. but I have Halladay, Lubke and Gavin Floyd on the mound while he has exhausted his 6 adds and has no starters but his 6 closers kinda have me on edge. I've been able to keep ahead of him in saves because my 4 have performed but his have choked all week and seem due. I'm gonna mess him up in the playoffs by adding the pitchers he always streams before he can. That will throw him of because he streams the same 6 pitchers every week as if they were his rotation and since he has an all star offence and 6 closers he almost always dominates every one he plays. THANKX!!!

Good thinking Roy!  That's actually a strategy I've seen written about each of the past few years.  Seen it in pre-season magazines about "how to beat a streamer."  You are picking a good time to mess him up though, especially if he's relying on it all season.

The magazine's always say to stream the guys an extra day in advance to make sure you get them.  I hope you have the flexibility to do that.  If not, and it's a yahoo league by any chance, you probably have an advantage living on the west coast.  You can stream right at the stroke of midnight; my impression is the rest of the country it's different, like probably 3:00 am on the east coast, etc.  I've used that to my advantage THOUSANDS of times, being that I'm a night owl, hehehe.

I won! 5-4. It's more of a statement to him then anything. That statement being that he can be beat and he will have no perfect season in my league, haha. Heck, I've been taught by two of the best players in the country. I also have my eye on his streaming this week to see if he deviates from his usual pitchers. Thanks Bones.

Well it's playoff time and my San Diego 13 and Madres 1 both made it past the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately I'm up against Howie dowinn this round. I'm down 4-5. I have to make late moves due to my congestive heart failure acting up and me being real sick from Sunday till' yesterday(what timing). He's streaming as usual but has changed up on who he's streaming. Any suggestions?

PS My Madres 1 team has a great lead and I might be playing for the gold next week
