It's the time of the year when guys who are still playing occasionally make a move for a prospect or a category by dumping a guy they shouldn't.  In one of my leagues where I am short on closers, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Carlos Marmol had been dropped.  He had just gone through a 3 game flame-out and had "lost his closer job."  But come on, the guy whiffed like 140 batters in 80 innings last year, and the Cubs invested $20 million in him in a 3-year contract.  And Sean Marshall?  Really?  Did anyone think that would last long?

I guess they did, or more likely, weren't paying attention.  I only had the 8 spot on the waiver list in a 12 team league, yet got Marmol.  And it was announced today that he has already won his closer role back.  A pleasant surprise indeed.
