5 starts, 23.2 innings pitched, 9.13 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, 18 strikeouts but 18 walks also, 4 HR's surrendered.

Do you drop a staff ace with this kind of start, or do you wait it out?

I already cut him in the one redraft league I owned him in.  it's a money league…and I'm not going to try and hang on to him in anything but dynasty leagues (and I don't own him in any dynasties…so no problem there!)

Looks like Tuesday is sort of   "D-Day"  for Liriano.  Sounds like if he gets blasted again he heads to the bullpen.

There was a good article on this on the yahoo site.  Letters to the editor were all over the place about what to do with Liriano.  Since the league I have him in is rather shallow, I probably will cut him….plenty on the waiver wire, and a good streamer I am!

Well, after one start he has gone from a cut/sell-low to a potential sell-high. I would want no part of him. Although he just pitched a no hitter, he threw 66 strikes over 123 pitches, walked 6 batters, and only struck out 2 batters. He also was helped by getting 3 double plays. He looked OK tonight, but I definitely think he wont rebound as much as everybody thinks now. I am sure that somebody in your league may overpay for him now in hopes that he rebounds to the Liriano of last year.

I'm still glad I dumped him….that was an awful looking no-hitter….53% of pitches thrown were strikes…terrible.  What a lucky game for him….but a no-no is a no-no…so congrats to Liriano for the first one of 2011.

Very interested in his next game follow-up tomorrow night after the no-no.

Came oh so close to cutting him last night when I saw the 12.00 ERA next to his name.  But then I read he was ill.  Hard to cut a guy after a no-hitter.

Well I finally cut the guy.   Needed some help in another line-up area (power), and for some reason (guys in this league don't pay attention daily) Gaby Sanchez was available, so I dropped Liriano.

I will cring mightily if he shuts down the lowly Mariners on Monday however……

On the other hand, if THAT team lights him up, you know it's over for good this year, lol.
