OnlineWe are at about the half way mark between Opening Day and the fantasy playoffs.
I'm in 10 leagues, and am faring way better than previous seasons at this point.
Am in first place in 6 of 10 leagues.
Have climbed from 10th to 2nd in another league (my nasty league where smack talk is like a bunch of drunk 8th graders. I really want to shut them up by doing well and being cordial at the same time, lol).
Am in 3rd in my "Cy Young" league (I auto-drafted heavy on stud SP's in this one).
Am in 2nd in my men's league that I have played in for 5 years. The guy in first is a kid…a 9th grader, grrrrrrrrrrr, darn auto-drafts!
My 10th league is worst at 5th place, but that's o.k., as it is composed of nothing but SF Giants and Colorado Rockies. So if the "Giant Rox" even make the playoffs with the anemic Giants hitting, I'll be happy.
How about you?
OfflineOut of the three leagues I'm in(The most I've ever taken on), I'm 5th, 6th and 4th. The 4th place is only out of 6(Our league) but I was 2nd last week and (hope I don't jinx it) hopefully will move into 3rd after tomorrow.
The 5th place ranking is from my 1st San Diego Madres team. This league is wide open with half of the 12 owners already taking the deadbeat route. Due to the deadbeats there are not a lot of trading going on and the waiver wire is taped out of good batters but full of good upstart pitchers.
The last league is my version of the "8th grader mentality" league. Not as many deadbeats here though one guy has a monopoly on the league (Howwie Doinn'). Howwie Doinn' drafted Pooholes first along with having the best overall batters draft he could have, plus he drafted some good young pitchers. He started by trading Pooholes the day after the draft, he got great value for him. Slowly but surely he started shistering everybody out of their top players to form an all star team. He's only lost 16 points overall so far(92-16-2)! He keeps sending out these ridiculous offers for my players, Halliday and CarGo, after cordially rejecting his trade offers than sending him a low ball deal of my own, he still won't stop. I finally wrote him back in bold letters "Knock It Off!". Hopefully he'll stop, it's been a few days. My only hope in this league, which has a better wavier wire is to claw my way to 2nd and hopefully his team will have a bad week in the playoffs, The advice I got from you guys
! That advice really put that whole situation in perspective, hey anything can happen. And that's why I enjoy our league the most because win, lose or draw it's all in good fun and it's great to have these awesome all star teams to noodle with. Thanks guys!
OnlineYes, anything can happen. Maybe I've shared this already, but last year I had a first place team heading into the playoffs. Made the finals easy enough, where the 2nd seed awaited. Right before THAT round however, Josh Hamilton and Joe Mauer were hurt. By that point the waiver wire had been stripped clean (not as many deadbeats) and I couldn't finish the job. You never know.
