Mark Reynolds was off to a quick start, but will he drop off and how well will he play when all is said and done on the year?

I think he stays hot. He should do well this season. Funny you mention him because I just traded for him in a dynasty league for a garbage RP and Im happy i made the move.

I'm mixed on Reynolds….He's too one-dimensional for me, however, that's obviously just my honest opinion… He's all or nothing and is rather too streaky for my taste (and this is coming from an extremely loyal Dbacks fan)..
Last year he hit 44 HRs and drove in 102 RBI, which to me he should have accumulated at least 20 more RBI…. Unfortunately, he obviously tends to K at an astronomical rate and seldom walks and hits for a rather low average. Several thought his stats would improve with him being surrounded with Adam LaRoche and Miguel Montero, but LaRoche has been a "bust" thus far and hampered by some injuries and of course Montero is out more than likely until June with that torn meniscus.
I just don't believe Reynolds has much of an upside either… He'll be 27 in August (which is old to be considered a prospect) and it seems that all we see of him thus far in his career is what we're going to get… He needs to finally learn how to drive the ball more to the opposite field, but appears the learning curve might be over….
I hope I'm proven wrong here since the Dbacks committed a long term contract towards him, but it seems Reynolds will always flirt with 40+ HRs, however, nothing else to show for his efforts…..

Thanks…. When I tend to criticize a player he immediately proves me wrong….Although it's a small sample-size… Reynolds went 3-4 w/1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 Run, but he K'ed twice which is true to his form….
I honestly hope he continues to prove me wrong since he's the only Dbacks source of pure power…..

He is a great power source and a great K source which ain't great for a hitter especially in leagues that penalize for it. I read he has more "hat tricks" ( 3 SO games) than gretzky has actual hat tricks. No too impressive given the difficulties between the two, but still funny.

Reynolds lastnight (4/20) again exhibited how he's virtually "all or nothing"…. In the 1st inning he ended the Dbacks 2-run rally by bouncing into an ending inning double play, however, he slugged 3-run HR in the 4th inning….
He actually pulled off the reverse of that "hat trick"….He walked 3xs and didn't K…. He also added a SB in for good measure as well….
It's hard to believe, but he had 24 SB which is impressive for a 3B with his power, however, we all know that can be moot due to his historically low OPS/OBP…… But just imagine if he can finally put it all together?
Update… Reynolds is out for 4/21 due to a quad injury…definitely something to track…..

Maybe that'll be his "shutout"

Well…Reynolds had an awesome all-around week, so perhaps claiming that he's cooled off was obviously very inaccurate by all accounts..
He hit 3 HR, 11 RBI, 19 TB, a staggering .421 BA and 1.500 OPs…… Let's see if he can continue to carry that momentum on the DBacks forthcoming 11-game road trip….

Yea, I'm starting to think this is his year. All year.

Well… Reynolds was voted the NL Player of the Week for 4/19-4/25.
I must reveal that I've been notorious for over the years in slamming a player and actually starts doing the opposite to prove me wrong… Obviously, in this case I'm willing to "eat crow"……
