I'd figure we should keep track of all our fantasy baseball teams under one thread….. We should posts each of our drafted rosters (for evaluation purposes) and provide occasional updates (such as results and transactions)…
I only participate (in fact commission) in 1 Yahoo league and we're conducting our draft tomorrow…. It's a 2nd season of a keeper league (I've been comissioning leagues since '04, but finally converted it into a keeper)….
I drafted #1 last year and my keepers are Hanley Ramirez, Prince Fielder, Curtis Granderson, and Carl Crawford…. The league scoring is:
| Batters Stat Categories: |
Runs (R), Hits (H), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Total Bases (TB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS) |
| Pitchers Stat Categories: |
Wins (W), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Holds (HLD), Total Bases Allowed (TB), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Strikeouts per Nine Innings (K/9)
I have the 4th overall pick and more than likely will go for BPA…. I will post my picks immediately after the draft, so I encourage all of you to post your roster(s) as well…..Thanks…..

This is my team in a league that I am in with some friends. Its not filled with knowledgeable people, yet it is still competitive. Everything seemed to go right for me on draft night. Unfortunately, I am not the commissioner so I didn't get the final say in some of these these ridiculous categories. I was successful in making them take out CS, SF, and replacing BB/9 and K/9 with WHIP.
10 Team H-2-H, redraft
Hitting: R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, HBP (the stupidest category ever), GIDP, K, E, AVG, OBP
Pitching: IP (min 30/week), W, L, CG, SV, H, ER, HR, BB, ERA, WHIP, BSV
C: M. Napoli
1B: A. Pujols (thankfully I had the #1 Pick)
2B: R. Cano
3B: P. Sandoval
SS: D. Jeter
OF: J. Werth
OF: S. Victorino
OF: J. Heyward (20th round, nobody bought in to the hype)
UTIL: M. Reynolds (he somehow lasted until round 6)
UTIL: A. Dunn
BN: J. Lopez (a steal in the 19th round)
BN: R. Davis
DL: C. Beltran
SP's: Haren, Hamels, Hanson, Porcello, Burnett, Strasburg, Scherzer
RP's: Wilson, Bell, Hoffman

Some of my leaguemates ripped on me for reaching in each of rounds 1-3, but I knew they would not be there in the following round and I wanted them on the squad.
Last year I sat in first place the ENTIRE fantasy season only to be bounced in the second round (my 1st due to a bye) of the playoffs. I'm out for blood in 2010.

Neither, lol. I just dont see him getting drafted that high usually. I dont have a problem with him at #7 however. Thats how good he can be imo.

My roster is interesting… It's again the 2nd year of my 12-team keeper league and I allowed for 4-players to be kept per roster. I had all 48-keepers listed from rounds 20-23. Here's the roster alignment:
Roster Positions:
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P,
P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL, DL
I posted my 4-keepers and the scoring categories/modifiers in my initial post….I also the 4th over-all pick and it was a snaking draft. I elected to include "H" a cpl years ago because it allows for a better pool of both starters and closers to be available off waivers…I actually don't have waivers..I enable all FAs to be available all throughout the season…. Here's the end result of my draft:
C-Russell Martin
1B-Prince Fielder
2B-Howie Kendrick
3B-Michael Young
SS-Hanley Ramirez
OF-Shin-Soo Choo
OF-Carl Crawford
OF-Curtis Granderson
UT-Hunter Pence
BN-Jason Kubel
BN-Garrett Jones
SP-Chris Carpenter
SP-Ubaldo Jimenez
SP-Wandy Rodriguez
RP-Joakim Soria
RP-Frank Francisco
RP-Bobby Jenks
P-Matt Guerrier
P-Octavio Dotel
P-George Sherrill
BN-J.A. Happ
BN-A.J. Burnett
BN-Ervin Santana
There was one guy who's been in my leagues for several years and he kept on picking players I was targetting, but I did the same to him… Not a bad draft….I finished low last season because I lacked in starting pitching, but I believe I did quite well this season…Obviously only time will tell

I found myself in a very tough spot, sitting at 7th. I knew I did not want to draft 1B or outfield in the first round as there is so much depth at those positions. So it really came down to Longoria or Tulo, assuming neither would be available for my second pick at 18. I saw I could get power from 3b down the line where I could not at SS.

I know it's opening day, but Garrett Jones has already paid off BIG dividends…True, a small sample-size, but what a steal in the 23rd round….He's poised to have a break-out campaign……

Hey, I need help with a possible move. Someone made a trade for Brian McCann, they ended up dropping Miguel Montero because he has a short bench in that league. I like Montero's potential but I already have Mike Napoli as my catcher. I am concerned that his AB's will go down because of Jeff Mathis and Montero might be a good pickup. Would you pick up Montero? If so who would you drop (my roster is a few posts up)?
Thanks in Advance.

Drop Napoli, Mathis looks very good and is getting most of the playing time anyways. Hurry up and get Montero!!!!!

No problem, I think you will be very happy with Montero as your Catcher.

Agreed…Montero is now driving the ball all over the place….He's always been consistent against LH pitching and shall receive the bulk of playing time behind the plate… He's also still young with some upside in him….Definitely well worth it……

Andrew:
Welcome to the site…."Tulo" isn't that bad of reach at #7….He caught on file once Jim Tracy became the Rockies manager and it seems he's fully reverted back to his '07 form…He just experienced the Sophomore Jinx in '08 and still has an ample amount of untapped potential yet to be discovered… Plus, after him and the other 2 SSs ahead of him (HanRam and Rollins) there's a major drop-off…Of course w/Derek Jeter beyond his prime and some doubt casted on Jose Reyes, drafting Tulo was definitely a solid move…Zobrist has potential, but only has shown that in a small sample size…..
